Kimberlyn Allen began her corporate flight attendant career over 13 years ago. Her first client was the Atlanta Hawks NBA basketball team in 1998. Even though she resided in Los Angeles, the following year she began flying the Carolina Hurricanes NHL hockey team, which lasted from 1999-2006 when the team won the coveted Stanley Cup. Since professional sports is seasonal, and Kimberlyn lived in Los Angeles she also had the opportunity to fly with many celebrities, entertainers, foreign dignitaries, presidential candidates, CEOs and the very wealthy elite.
In 2003, Kimberlyn Allen founded Jet-Set Aviation Professionals with her flight attendant friend and co-worker, David Clemens. They created the company because of the increased demand for service oriented, safety conscienctious flight attendants. Over the years they have expanded their business to include a global corporate flight attendant placement agency, an In-Flight catering consulting division for professional sports teams, (which they still provide to Carolina Hurricanes and other teams) and all around concierge services for the private aviation industry. You can view a list of all services provided by going to www.jetsetaviation.com. Recently, Kimberlyn has created a separate website for Jet-Set Aviations flight attendant agency. The website is www.cabinattendants4hire.com.
In 2005, Kimberlyn and her company were hired by Imagine Entertainment as Flight Attendant Technical Advisor and On-Set Consultant for the feature film Flight Plan, starring Jodie Foster and Peter Sarsgaard. She also spent time training the actresses, including Erica Christensen, on how to play their roles as flight attendants in the movie. She was asked to be on-set and consulted with the director, executive producers and others regarding the actual specific real-life duties and responsibilities of being a flight attendant. Kimberlyn was also in talks to be a flight attendant technical advisor for another movie entitled Red Eye but scheduling conflicts did not permit it.
In speaking with Kimberlyn, she has many memorable stories, but since all flight attendants and pilots must sign confidentiality/non-disclosure agreements, she decided to share only one story of a particular Thanksgiving dinner she and her pilots attended.
At that time, the crew had been flying around Sting and his band, for his Brand New Day Tour. She was asked by Sting where the crew would be spending Thanksgiving since they would be in NYC instead of at home in LA. Kimberlyn's response was "at some restaurant in the city". In turn, Sting invited the crew to spend Thanksgiving with him, Trudie and their family. When the crew showed up, they were greeted lovingly by Sting and Trudie, given a personal tour of their home, including their book and art collection. "It was and has been by far the best Thanksgiving I have ever had. Sting and Trudie are such amazing, wonderful people, who treated us crew members like family". - Kimberlyn
Kimberlyn still resides in Los Angeles and has opened additional flight attendant training locations in Miami and New York. Her goal for this year is to expand her Corporate Flight Attendant training program internationally.
Her training manual entitled: Jet Set Aviation Professionals -Corporate Flight Attendant Training Manual is now being published by the Library of Congress.
